Every yoga teacher develops his or her own style over the years and I do believe mine is still developing (and I hope it will contain to develop over the years). I trained as a traditional hatha yoga teacher with Dr. Venky’s Shivshakti Yoga Institute and that is what I specialise in. However, I have also been greatly influenced by Sadie Nardini’s CSV (Core Strength Vinyasa) training which also focuses on anatomy and the importance of transitioning through the poses.
If you’ve read my About page, you’ll know that I’ve suffered with back pain throughout my adult life, which is why anatomy-based yoga is super important to me. I know that pushing yourself too hard in yoga can lead to injury. This is the reason why I avoid going overboard – you’re unlikely to see me doing headstands, handstands, or any other form of acrobatics. My style of yoga is all about WELLBEING.
